Our Wine Clubs

Adastra crafts small amounts of wine from just 20 acres of CCOF-certified organic estate vineyard in the Napa Carneros. Found primarily in the best of Bay Area restaurants, you now have the opportunity to obtain each vintage immediately on release before stocks deplete.

Established humbly with the release of 50 cases of our 1995 Merlot and 194 cases of our 1996 Chardonnay,we augmented our portfolio with a 2002 Pinot Noir (75 cases) and most recently with a 2005 Syrah (100 cases). Our total production now ranges from 1,200 to 1,500 cases per year. Our name, Adastra, comes from the Latin saying per aspera ad astra, “through striving to the stars.”   We strive to produce balanced, intense, elegant wines that capture the essence of our lovingly farmed vineyard.

Family-owned, Adastra is run by retired surgeon Chris Thorpe and son-in-law Edwin Richards. Pam Starr has been our winemaking consultant since 1997. We hope you will want to join our family venture as full-fledged participants in all the benefits of the Adastra Wine Club.
