Shipping Policies and Information

Adastra offers shipping at rates that are below cost. We enjoy getting to know our customers directly, and so it’s worth it to us to make ordering online or by phone economically feasible for you.
That having been said, wine presents a quadruple threat for shippers: It’s perishable, heavy, the bottles are breakable and deliveries require an adult signature. Protective shipping materials are required, and the weight of a single 750-ml bottle totals upwards of three pounds per bottle. We’ll continue to look for better and more economical ways to deliver Adastra to you, but meantime please understand that proper shipping is a worthwhile investment to protect your purchase. Because of the signature requirement, many customers have found that it is easier to have wine shipped to a business address if at all possible.

Buy a case!
- If you order the equivalent of 12 750-ml bottles (that’s 6 magnums or 24 half-bottles), we’ll deliver your order using ground shipping at no charge. If you prefer 2nd-day air, we subsidize the base cost, equivalent to the ground shipping cost, and charge you the remainder.
- Case orders also receive a 10% discount on the wine price, excluding Proximus. Mixed cases are fine, and Proximus can be included to make up the bottle count, but it won’t be discounted.
- Buying a case needn’t be daunting.
  - Consider grouping purchases among friends. As long as you deliver to single address, you can divvy up the Adastra spoils however you like.
  - Take into account wine gifting as well as any entertaining you plan to do. You may find you go through 12 bottles faster than you think. (We do!)
Join our Wine Club!
- Commit to receive 3, 6 or 12 bottles quarterly and you’ll receive a 15% wine discount, deducted at checkout, on all wines excluding Proximus. The discount more than covers the shipping cost, and applies to both the quarterly wine club shipment as well as additional purchases of any size.
- If you opt for the 12-bottle quarterly allotment, we’ll deliver your wine club shipment using ground shipping at no charge. If you prefer 2nd-day air, we subsidize the base cost, and charge you the remainder.

Orders received early in the week ship that same week, while orders received late in the week are processed early the next week. If you have a deadline, please let us know by entering information in the Comments section of the order form.
We may delay shipment if adverse weather conditions threaten to spoil wine in transit; if such conditions arise, we will notify you.

A Magnum (1.5L) is equivalent to 2 750-ml bottles, so shipping costs for 1 magnum would equal those for 2 750-ml bottles, 2 magnums would equal 4 bottles, and so on. A Half-Bottle (375 ml) is equivalent to half of a 750-ml bottle, so shipping costs for 2 half-bottles would equal those for 1 750-ml bottles, 4 half-bottles would equal 2 750-ml bottles, and so on.
